9/30/12

The seabass fishing is excellent at the ab reef with a few porgies and triggers mixed in.mike rossi and his crew fished the ab reef and had two full bushel baskets of seabass to 4lbs and a dozen keeper porgies,they also lost a few seabass to gator bluefish. kevin,brian,and jake on there boat tight lines also fished the ab reef and had a great day landing 27 keepers and tons of shorts with 3 keeper porgies and 2 trigger fish. the ocean bluefishing heated up this week with gators being caught on the bunker schools east of jones in 40 ft. the big blues are also in jones inlet and all over the bay.larry m fishing the outgoing tide fished near the west bar and plugged gators to 15lbs on every cast until his arms ached,he said he left them chewing,all fish were caught on poppers. the bayfishing is heating up with plenty of schoolie bass and bluefish of all sizes being caught on artificials and bait. the big m is holding bluefish of all sizes with tons of peanut bunker holding them there. fish to 11lbs have been weighed in. the bass are taking clams at the big m,fundy bridge and the west bar on the outgoing tide but you have to chum. still tons af small cbass all over the bay at all the local piers and all the bridges and are taking clams and worms. cocktail blues and snappers are also being caught at all the local piers and are a blast for the kids. 9/16/12

The ocean fluke bite slowed up earlier in the week but got better at the end of the week with some nice fish being taken in the 90ft depths outside of jones. joe mihalic and his crew fished the 90 ft depths and landed 4 keepers to 4.5lbs and on the way in seen a bunker school getting beat up by big blues and caught a dozen fish to 15lbs on live bunker.the bay fluke bite is still producing a few keepers up near the structure of the local bridges and the inlet on the west side. the bay bass bite is just starting up on clam bellies with jimmy butler fishing solo at the big m and catching 3 short bass to "26. he said it was very hard to get past the schools of bluefish. the backbay plugging is excellent with schoolie bass and bluefish of all sizes being caught on poppers,tins and swim shads. the big m is holding bluefish to 10lbs on the change of the tide, high outgoing, use bucktails and porkrind or fresh bunker chunks . still tons of seabass in the bay being caught on clams and sands. snappers are also being caught at all the local piers. the shop has fresh bunker daily.and we open early and close late.

THE SEABASS FISHING IS EXCELLENT RIGHT NOW WITH SOME LARGE KNUCKLEHEADS BEING CAUGHT AT THE AB REEF WITH SOME NICE PORKCHOPS MIXED IN. THE BLUEFISH BITE IS STILL EXCELLENT IN THE BAY AND OCEAN WITH FISH BEING TAKEN ON POPPERS,TINS AND SWIMMING PLUGS,THEY ARE ALSO INHALING FRESH BUNKER.SOME KEEPER FLUKE HAVE BEEN TAKEN NEAR THE COAL WRECK.GUYLOMBARDO PIER IS PRODUCING ALL SIZE BLUEFISH TAKEN ON TINS AND FRESH BUNKER.TONS OF SMALL SEABASS ARE ALSO BEING TAKEN AT THE PIER ON SANDS AND CLAMS

The fishing this week really turned on. the ocean fluke fishing at cholera was red hot for frank,jack and chris aboard franks boat gigi. they had there limit of fluke to 5.3lbs fishing with bucktails and hi/lo rigs in white and pink tipped with local spearing. freddy sr and fred jr had a good day fishing the hempstead reef with 6 fish to "25, they also caught 3 gorilla bluefish to 15lbs. the ocean bluefishing is as good as it gets at the mud buoy. brian,larry and pete made the run and had as many bluefish as you wanted,all monsters caught on fresh bunker chunks and chum. the bay fluke fishing also got good again with plenty of keepers mixed in. christian c had three keeper fluke and a bunch of bluefish fishing the draws of the big m, all fish were caught on bucktails tipped with spearing. the bay is loaded with small bass and bluefish of all sizes. mike and russell from the shop caught 5 bass one which was a keeper of "29 and many bluefish to 10lbs, all the fish were caught on poppers and bucktails and porkrind. the local piers are producing snappers,bluefish,seabass,fluke,croaker,kingfish,nows the time to go fishing.

The ocean fluke fishing is still excellent with plenty of large flatties being caught and plenty of limits being taken. ralph and john fished cholera for a limit of fluke to 5.6lbs and 5 keeper seabass all the fish were caught on hi/lo bucktail rigs tipped with squid and spearing. larry m and his brother brian also fished cholera and limited out with fish to 24" and also had a 40lb brown shark on there fluke rod. there are also some large bluefish and chicken mahi being taken with chum and chunks. the ab reef and mcallister have been very good with a steady pick of jumbo seabass and some quality fluke. the inshore flukeing has been very good if you can get past the small seabass and sea robins. try between the big m and the jones beach piers and between the sloop channel and shortbeach cut. there are loads of bluefish in the bay with plenty of small bass mixed in and are being caught on the outgoing tide on poppers and swim plugs. the blueclaw crabs are thick at all the local piers. and now is the time to take the kids fishing, snappers are thick and put a piece of clam out and small seabass,croaker and kingfish will be caught.

The ocean fluke fishing has been off the hook. cholera,ab reef,mcallister are all producing limit catches.mike,kevin and roger fishing mikes boat reel therapy had there 12 fish limit and many more keepers that they released fishing cholera, the largest fish was 6.3 lbs.they caught the fish on hi/lo bucktail rigs and single hook bait rigs on a three way eight inches off the bottom tipped with peruvians and local spearing. kevin larson also fished the cholera area and had 9 keepers to 5.6lbs only keeping his limit.all his fish were caught on spearing and peanut bunker.the bay fluke fishing is also good with plenty of keepers being caught. shawn and louie had 4 keepers fishing the north end of the bridge up in the structure fishing bucktails tipped with spearing and also had 13 bluefish up to 6lbs. the bluefishing in the bay is excellent with plenty of fish being plugged in the evening and early morning with a few bass to 25" also being taken. the snappers are everywhere and are getting larger.blueclaws are thick at the local piers. tons of small seabass,kingfish and croaker are taking clam baits at all the local piers and canals.

The ocean fluke fishing is excellent at cholera and the ab reef still. mike,jill and pete fished cholera and had 9 keeper fluke and 5 keeper seabass fishing the incoming tide.they caught the fish on hi/lo mylar and bucktail rigs tipped with spearing and squid. kevin p fishing alone at cholera also had a great day with 7 keepers up to 5.75lbs only keeping his limit of 4. plenty of bluefish and small sharks to keep you busy,they are taking whole bunker and bunker chunks. the seabass fishing is also a good bet on the ab reef,cholera and mcallister and are being taken on fresh skimmers with a few triggers and scup mixed in. the bay fluking is a steady pick of fish with some keepers mixed in. the bluefish and small bass are being plugged all over the bay and flats and are taking poppers,swimming plugs and shads, outgoing tide is best. snappers are getting larger and are taking spearing,small tins and snapper poppers. blueclaw crabs are in thick at all the local piers and docks.

IF YOU WANT TO CATCH FLUKE,GO TO CHOLERA AND FISH THE INCOMING TIDE. FISHING IS RED HOT WITH PLENTY OF LIMITS BEING CAUGHT. IF CONDITIONS ARE RIGHT TRY FISHING A 2OZ SPRO TIPPED WITH BELLIE AND SPEARING IN WHITE OR PINK. THERE ARE ALSO PLENTY OF SEABASS  BEING CAUGHT AT CHOLERA. SMALL MAHI ARE ALSO IN THE MIX WITH PLENTY OF BLUEFISH TO. SOME VERY LARGE BLUEFISH ARE BEING CAUGHT IN THE OCEAN OFF THE PINK HOTEL SWIMMING LAZILY ON THE SURFACE,THROW POPPERS AT THEM FOR A STRIKE. THE FLUKE FISHING IN THE BAY IS ALSO GOOD. DRIFT THE EAST SIDE OF THE BIG M TO THE JONES BEACH PIERS.

The ocean fluking is excellent. timmy,chris and nick fished cholera and had there limit of fluke to 25",they also caught 5 keeper seabass.they fished the last of the incoming and first of the outgoing.plenty of fish also on the hempstead reef also with a steady bite of big seabass,scup and triggers. the ab reef has also been good this week with plenty of fish being caught. the bay fluke bite is a steady pick of keeper size fish with hi/lo bucktail rigs taking there share. there are plenty of bluefish and bass in the bay and are being taken on the outgoing tide up against the marsh banks and drains, smack it poppers and tins are working well. the bluefish are showing every evening in jones inlet. there are tons of small cbass,porgies,spot and kingfish in the bay and are taking clams and worms on hi/lo rigs,nows the time to take the kids fishing. there are loads of snappers in all the canals and fishing piers . blueclaw crabs are thick at all the piers and docks.

The ocean fluke fishing is very good with some good catches being taken at cholera and the atlantic beach reef. kyle and jim fishing the ab reef had 5 keepers to 6lbs and 7 keeper seabass to 4.3lbs. they caught all the large seabass on peanut bunker . mike and rob from there boat on the brink fished the ab reef and had tons of life with a mixed bag of seabass and fluke for the table and two bass to 15lbs,the bass were caught on fresh bunker chunks from the shop.they also hooked up with a 150lb thresher on one of the chunks but lost it after a brief battle. the bay fluke fishing is still excellent with many keepers in the mix. try fishing the state channel near the jones beach piers and the construction pier near jones inlet, last 2 hours of the incoming are your best bet. bluefish are back in numbers in the back bays and inlets. bass are being plugged in fundy bay and the marsh banks at dawn and dusk. the snapper fishing is incredible in all the local canals and fishing piers.the crabbing is also excellent. there are also tons of small seabass,croaker,porgies and kingfish in the bay, there biting on fresh clams.

The ocean fluking earlier in the week was top notch,plenty of quality fish were caught.tommy gruber and friends fished the south west corner of the ab reef and drilled 7 keepers to 24",they also had two keeper striped  bass and 2 keeper seabass after they anchored up on a high spot on the reef and fished chunks and clams. cholera was a steady pick of nice fish also.peanut bunker and peruvians are the baits of choice for the bigger fish.the bay fishing remains excellent with plenty of keepers in the mix. hi/lo bucktail rigs are deadly.try fishing the structure near the loop bridge and big m,also try near the coast guard station on the last two hours of the incoming. mike sr from the shop crushed the schoolie bass plugging the flats in fundy bay using poppers on the high outgoing.loads of snappers and crabs are in every local canal, get the family out and have some fun.

The ocean fluke fishing continues to be excellent with plenty of keepers being taken. avrem and his son stopped on a bunker school that looked active and landed a nice bass of 37lbs, then went to cholera and caught 4 keeper fluke and a few seabass to 3.5 lbs. cholera is full of life with plenty of fish being caught.another good bet is around the tankers just south if jones inlet. the ab reef,hemptead reef and mcallister are still holding fish as well,with plenty of triggers,seabass and a few scup mixed in.ocean bass slowed down,but a few fish are still being caught west of jones,early morning and evenings are best.the bay fluke bite remains good,with plenty of bait in the bay.try fishing near the jones beach piers,swift creek,long creek near the bridges.small bass are being plugged in the bay near the marsh banks and drains.the clams and heavy chum are still producing at all the local bridges.snappers and crabs are all over and are fun for the kids.and congratulations to gianna falco at the age of 23 months on her first snapper.

SOME NICE FLUKE ARE BEING CAUGHT JUST EAST OF THE TANKERS WHEN THE DRIFT 
IS GOOD.ALSO SOME GOOD FISHING AT THE PIPELINE FOR FLUKE AND SOME QUALITY SEABASS.THERE ARE PLENTY OF SQUID HERE SO THE GOOD FLUKE BITE SHOULD CONTINUE.

Some great fluke fishing is happening right now in 
 our bay.Some quality fish are being caught at all the local bridges. the fish are holding tight to the structure. Hi/lo rigs tipped with spearing and gulp are doing a good job on them . Also try a long leader on a three way tight to the bottom with peanut bunker or snappers.

7/8/12

The ocean fluke fishing remains excellent.fish to 8.4lbs have been weighd in at the shop.the fish have been chewing all week at cholera,ab reef,mcallister,hempstead reef and the inshore local wrecks.brian,ronnie and pete fished the ab reef and had 9 keepers to 6.9lbs. they caught all the fish on hi/lo rigs tipped with local spearing,peanut bunker,and squid.they also had some nice seabass and 2 ling mixed in. nick and andre fished mcallister grounds tuesday and had 6 fish 24", all the fish were caught on peanut bunker,peruvians and local spearing,they also said they seen a small thresher harassing the bunker.the seabass fishing is excellent at the ab reef  with fish to 4lbs being caught on clams.the ocean bass bite busted wide open earlier this week.mike and russell from the shop had a dozen fish to 40lbs on monday fishing the bunker schools just east of the needle in 49 ft. good catches have been made to both the east and west of jones,its an very early or late bite.the bay and inlet fluke fishing is still very good with some large fish being caught at the local bridges and jones inlet.the clam bite is descent at the local bridges with fish to 34" being caught. plenty of snappers and blueclaw crabs are being caught in all the local canals.

The ocean fluke bite turned excellent this week with some great catches being made with fish to 8lbs. tommy,al and tom jr limited out on the ab reef thursday fishing the south edge of the reef with hi/lo bucktail rigs and hi/lo mylar rigs tipped with local and peruvian spearing,they said they released many more keepers.many other customers reporting great fishing as well.the seabass fishing is top notch on all the local reefs ,some fish to 4lbs are being caught with plenty of scup and ling mixed in.the fluke fishing in the bay and inlet is also a great bet,hi/lo bucktail rigs are producing very well.the ocean bass bite is slow right now,with plenty of bait from 20 to 60ft but not many fish.the bay and inlet bassing is still very good with clam bellies and heavy clam chum.plenty of small and medium bluefish are all over the bay.snappers and crabs are being caught at all the local piers


THE FLUKE FISHING IN THE BAY REMAINS VERY GOOD.SOME LARGE FISH ARE BEING TAKEN IN JONES INLET AS LONG AS YOU CAN GET PAST THE SEA ROBINS.THE FISH ARE BEING TAKEN ON HI/LO BUCTAIL RIGS TIPPED WITH SPEARING.THE WEST SIDE OF THE INLET IS BEST.THE OCEAN FLUKING WHEN CONDITIONS ARE GOOD IS EXCELLENT. SOME IMPRESSIVE CATCHES ARE BEING CAUGHT AT CHOLERA,AB REEF,MCALLISTER AND THE INSHORE WRECKS,IBERIA AND THE STONE BARGE.THE SEABASS FISHING CONTINUES TO BE EXCELLENT,ALL THE LOCAL REEFS AND WRECKS ARE PRODUCING, BUT THE STANDOUT IS THE AB REEF,PLENTY OF SCUP AND A FEW TRIGGERS AND LING MIXED IN.CLAMS,SQUID,SPEARING AND LIVE KILLIES ARE THE BAITS OF CHOICE.THE OCEAN BASS FISHING IS HIT OR MISS FROM DEBS TO JONES.THE BETTER FISHING IS DEFINATLY IN DEEPER WATER FROM 40 TO 60FT.BLUEFISH ARE A GOOD BET IN THE BAY WITH FISH BEING CAUGHT IN THE HORSE RACE,HAUNTS CREEK AND JONES INLET,OUTGOING TIDE IS BEST BET. A FEW SMALL BASS HAVE ALSO BEEN PLUGGED IN THE BACK BAYS,OUTGOING A MUST

The fishing for all species remains excellent.fluke fishing busted wide open this week with some great catches being taken off the roundhouse,mcallister grounds and hempstead reef and the ab reef .fred and mark on the bounty had seven keepers to 6.4lbs fishing near the ab reef.all fish were caught on hi/lo rigs tipped with local and peruvian spearing.the tim miller crew fishing the mcallister had 8 fish to 7.4 oz fishing hi/lo mylar rigs and fluke balls tipped with spearing.john and marco and there uncle drilled the seabass on the ab reef to 4lbs and limited out by noon fishing clams and clam chum,they said the chum was key.the bay fluke fishing was also good in jones inlet on the point lookout side. some nice fish are being jigged on the last of the incoming.the bass fishing is hit or miss in the ocean with the bunker pods being unpredictable. gator blues are all over the pods when there around. smaller blues are being taken at west end 2 and the inlet every evening. there hitting fresh bunker chunks best,diamond jigs and tins are also working.bluefish and fluke are still being caught at the local piers on bunker and spearing.and blueclae crabs are taking bunker in the crab traps.

THE SEABASS AND PORGY FISHING REMAINS VERY GOOD ON ALL LOCAL REEFS AND INSHORE WRECKS.OCEAN FLUKING HAS PICKED UP WITH SOME GREAT CATCHES COMING FROM McALLISTER AND THE AB REEF.THE INSHORE FLUKING HAS BEEN EXCELLENT THE LAST 3 DAYS ON THE INCOMING TIDE.FISH ARE BEING TAKEN ON HI/LO BUCKTAIL RIGS TIPPED WITH SPEARING IN JONES INLET.PLENTY OF BASS ARE BEING CAUGHT AT THE LOCAL BRIDGES AND WEST BAR IN JONES INLET AND THE DOCK LINE AT THE ATLANTIC BEACH BRIDGE.THE FISH ARE TAKING BELLIES WITH HEAVY CHUM.BLUEFISH CAN BE PLUGGED IN THE MORNINGS AND EVENINGS IN JONES INLET AND BACK BAYS.BLUECLAW CRABS ARE IN AND ON THE POLES ALREADY AND BEING CAUGHT AT THE LOCAL PIERS.

THE BASS AND GATOR BLUEFISH ARE CHEWING EAST AND WEST OF JONES INLET ON THE BUNKER SCHOOLS.THE PODS WERE GETTING CRUSHED YESTERDAY UNTIL DARK.BLUEFISH TO 15LBS AND BASS TO 36LBS WERE CAUGHT BY CUSTOMERS.BILL G SAID THE WATER AROUND THE SCHOOL HE WAS FISHING TURNED RED FROM THE BLOOD. WE ARE UP ON THE MOON SO GET OUT AND GO FISHING!!!

Opening day of seabass was a hit.great catches of quality fish are being caught at mcallister,ab reef,hempstead reef,with large scup mixed in.nick,tommy and paul fished opening day at mcallister and drilled over 40 seabass with two just over 4lbs,they also had 13 scup and 2 ling. keith headrick fished alone on opening day and limited out on seabass fishing the hempstead reef with fish close to 4lbs. the fluking is still good in the bay and inlet if you can get past the searobins.hi/lo bucktail rigs are doing the damage tipped with spearing.the bass are still hitting clam bellies at all the local bridges with loads of blufish mixed in,the west bar of jones inlet is also a good bet with outgoing water producing better.ocean bass fishing is a pick ,with plenty of bunker to the west and east of jones with only a few pods holding fish.there are plenty of bass and bluefish being taken in the local back bays on poppers and swimming plugs. mike sr from the shop has been putting a hurting on bass and bluefish all week throwing smack-it poppers in fundy bay,haunts creek and long creek. plenty of sandeels,spearing,and peanut bunker in the bay.blueclaw crabs are just starting to show in the creeks.

The fluke are finally here!!! wednesday a new body of fluke moved into the bay and ocean.some impressive catches have been made.kevin and jim had 5 keeper fish fising jones inlet,on the west side near the green entrance buoys. sal and his wife gloria fishing mccallister friday limited out with fish to 6.1lbs all fish were caught with hi/lo bucktail rigs and 6 and 8oz chrome balls tipped with local spearing and peruvians. the fluking in the bay is also excellent,with fish being taken by the loop bridges and big m, and fundy bridges. the bass bite is excellent on bellies also at the big m and loop bridges, they are still being caught on either tide. the ocean bass bite picked up at the end of the week with fish to 35lbs taken on the pods off of the roundhouse in 20 to 40ft of water.joe and his buddy drilled 2 bass to 30lbs on sunday morning ,releasing both fish.bill g fishing just east of debs had 6 fish to 35lbs fishing in 20ft .bluefish are all over the bay and ocean and are being caught on diamond jigs,poppers, swim shads and fresh bunker chunks and the larger peruvians.the shop is getting ready for all the upcoming shark tournaments and will be fully stocked,please call in advance for large orders.

I FISHED LAST NIGHT AND IM GLAD I WENT!!!! WEATHERMAN SAID 3 TO 5 FT,MORE LIKE 3 TO 5 INCHES.BROKE THE INLET AT 7PM TO A FLAT CALM OCEAN,HEADED EAST AND SEEN A POD.SNAG BUNKER CATCH A GATOR,NO BASS HOME,MOVED TO NEXT POD,ALL BLUEFISH BUT FUN.. GETTING LATE AND HEAD FOR THE INLET AND GATOR BLUES CRUSHING BAIT ON THE EAST BAR,I TOSSED A PENCIL POPPER AND WAS IN TO FISH UNTIL IT GOT DARK... FUN TIME AND A BUNCH OF BUSTED TACKLE...ONLY KEPT A FEW AND FROZE THEM FOR SHARK BAIT.

THE BASS ARE CHEWING WITH LOADS OF BLUEFISH MIXED IN.CUSTOMERS ARE CATCHING KEEPER BASS AT THE WANTAGH BRIDGES,LOOP AND MEADOWBROOK BRIDGES USING FRESH BELLIES AND LOTS OF CHUM.CUSTOMERS NEIL AND FRANK FISHED THE LOOP DRAWBRIDGE AT THE LAST OF THE OUTGOING AND CAUGHT 5 FISH TO 34".THEY ALSO HAD A BUNCH OF BLUEFISH.MARCO AND JOHN FISHED THE INLET WITH FRESH BUNKER AND HAD A BASS OF 20LBS AND PLENTY OF BIG GATOR BLUES.THEY SAID THE TIDE WAS RIPPING BECAUSE OF THE MOON.A FEW CUSTOMERS WERE FISHING SOME OF THE LOCAL DRAINS WITH BELLIES AND ALSO CAUGHT PLENTY OF BASS AND BLUES.ANGLERS FISHING ON THE LOCAL PIERS ARE ALSO CATCHING TONS OF BLUEFISH WITH FRESH BUNKER CHUNKS WITH AN OCCASIONAL BASS MIXED IN.WITH THIS NORTH WIND,AND CLEANER WATER THE FISH SHOULD CHEW EVEN BETTER,SO GET OUT THERE AND CATCH A BIG ONE!!!

THE BASS ARE IN THE OCEAN MIXED WITH CHOPPER BLUES.THEY ARE BEING CAUGHT ON AND AROUND THE BUNKER SCHOOLS EAST AND WEST OF JONES.IF YOU DONT GET BIT IN A HALF HOUR MOVE TO A DIFFERENT POD,ONLY A FEW PODS HAVE FISH.FLUKING IN THE BAY IS STILL GOOD WITH A FEW KEEPERS MIXED IN.TRY FISHING IN THE BACK BAYS WITH HI/LO BUCKTAIL RIGS.ALSO TRY SWIFT CREEK AND REYNOLDS CHANNEL ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE LOOP. STILL PLENTY OF BLUEFISH IN THE BAY.BAIT,JIGS AND PLUGS ARE ALL WORKING.THE CLAM BELLY BITE IS EXCELLENT AT THE ATLANTIC BEACH BRIDGE AND DOCKLINE.OUTGOING PRODUCING BEST.WANTAGH ANG MEADOWBROOK BRIDGES ALSO PRODUCING WELL.

SOME NICE BASS WERE TAKEN YESTERDAY EVENING IN AND AROUND JONES INLET ON THE BUNKER PODS.THE PODS WERE RIGHT IN THE INLET YOU JUST HAVE TO BE FISHING THE RIGHT POD.LARGE BLUEFISH WERE ALSO IN THE MIX. SOME NICE FLUKE ARE FINALLY BEING CAUGHT IN THE OCEAN ON THE LOCAL REEFS.LOCAL SPEARING AND PERUVIANS WORKING WELL.ONCE THE WEEKEND BOAT TRAFFIC STOPS,TRY FISHING EARLY MORNING OR EARLY EVENING FOR BASS AND BLUEFISH IN THE BAY.CUSTOMERS ARE STILL CHUNKING FISH AT THE LOCAL PIERS.

The big bass bite finally started on the bunker schools east and west of jones,fish to 32lbs have been weighed in .earlier in the week joey,mike,and the rest of there crew had 6 bass to 32lbs and loads of bluefish. they had 4 of the fish fishing live bunker and two of the fish on chunks.tim robertson also had 2 bass fishing the bunker schools just west of jones in 30 ft of water and 4 large blue fish. bass and bluefish are still in jones,and debs.try clam chum and fresh skimmers for the bass,diamond jigs,poppers and swimming plugs for the bluefish.the bay fluke bite has more keepers being taken this week.teddy bauer fishing the loop bridge and scow creek hat 3 keepers to 24"on hi/lo bucktail rigs tipped with local spearing. kenny and his date melissa fishing reynolds channel east of the loop bridge had a 5.5lb fluke and 15 blues fishing hi/lo buctail rigs with peruvian spearing and local spearing. still plenty of bass and blues along the beach being caught on fresh bunker chunks from debs to fi inlet.if you enjoy catching bluefish try any of the local bridges in the early am and pm hours.

THE FISH ARE STILL HERE!!! PLENTY OF BASS TAKING CLAMS AT THE LOCAL BRIDGES AND IN THE BACK BAYS.THE BLUEFISH ARE EVERYWHERE,AT ALL THE LOCAL BRIDGES,AROUND THE MARSH BANKS AND UP IN THE FLATS. THEY ARE HITTING POPPERS,TINS,SWIM SHADS,BUCKTAILS AND OF COURSE FRESH BUNKER CHUNKS,LARGE PERUVIAN SPEARING.TRY ANY OF THE LOCAL PIERS WITH FRESH BUNKER ON A FISH FINDER AND YOU SHOULD CATCH.MIKE FROM THE SHOP WAS USING SMACK-IT POPPERS YESTERDAY IN THE RAIN AND CAUGHT FISH TO 9LBS,FISHING JUST SOUTH OF THE LOOP BRIDGE... HE ALSO HAD FISH IN FUNDY BAY.SOME FLUKE TO 5.8LBS HAVE BEEN CAUGHT IN SWIFT CREEK AND NEAR THE BIG M.HI/LO TIPPED WITH SPEARING AND HI/LO BUCKTAIL RIGS ARE MAKING A DENT.

The ocean bass bite has picked up, fish to 35lb were caught earlier in the week on the bunker pods west of jones inlet. fish were also trolled on shad umbrella rigs . a few boats also jigged the bass on the edge of the pods, and had fish to 25lbs and gator bluefish up to 15lbs that actually bit jig hooks in half. the anglers fishing the surf from jones to debs are scoring on bass and blues using plugs and fresh clams and bunker through out the day. the bay fluke fishing picked up at the end of the week with plenty of keepers mixed in, try fishing near the loop draw bridge on the north side and reynolds channel by the golf course. the larger fish are being taked with hi/lo rigs tipped with spearing and squid. all the bluefish you want even when theres boat traffic, there taking poppers ,plugs,diamond jigs, soft swim baits and fresh bunker chunks . try the local piers with bass and blues being caught on any tide. they are hitting fresh chunked bunker, skimmers and large peruvian spearing. still loads of bait in the bay and canals. squid are thick in freeport deep canals and are spawning. try squid jigging in the evenings,its alot of fun.the shop is open daily at 6am and we close late,plenty of parking for cars and boats,just look for my signs across from the shop.

THE BASS ARE FINALLY TAKING LIVE BUNKER ON THE PODS WEST OF JONES.. FISH TO 35LBS REPORTED.SNAG AND GRAB WAS THE METHOD TODAY..FISH ARE FROM 15 TO 30FT FROM THE PINK HOTEL TO DEBS.. A FEW CUSTOMERS ALSO HAD SOME LARGE BLUEFISH AND BASS TO 18LBS ON THE TROLL USING BRAID AND SHAD RIGS.

DID I SAY BLUEFISH!!! THERE EVERYWHERE,AT ALL THE LOCAL BRIDGES,JONES INLET DEBS INLET,BACK BAYS AND ALL THE FISHING PIERS.. AND THERE HUNGRY. THERE TAKING DIAMOND JIGS,POPPERS,SWIMSHADS,TINS,PLUGS,AND OF COURSE BAIT,FRESH BUNKER,SQUID,PERUVIANS AND KILLIES.. BRING THE KIDS AND GET IN ON THE RUN.

The BLUEFISH are everywhere!!!! Bay and Ocean are producing. They are being caught near all the local bridges and inlets. Try jigging,tins,plugs,bucktails,and fresh bunker chunks. If your interested in BASS try Clam bellies and clam chum at the local bridges,fish to 34" are being caught.Customers tossing plugs are having a ball with the Blues with an occasional BASS mixed in.The FLUKEING is a steady pick with some larger fish being caught in Swift Creek, they are being caught on hi/lo bucktail rigs tipped with spearing.Loads of squid in the bay spawning,BASS,BLUES and FLUKE are spitting them up.THE SHOP IS OPEN AT 6AM DAILY AND CLOSES LATE... STOP BY AND CHECK OUT THE SHOP,BY BOAT OR BY CAR...PLENTY OF PARKING.

There have been a few WEAKFISH to 22" taken today on whole sandworms in middle bay on the incoming, the customer also had 3 small blowfish. BASS and BLUEFISH were also caught today on the incoming tide at the BIG M. Fish were caught on bellies and chum.There are reports of some big bass being caught from the surf at jones beach and points east,using fresh chunked bunker....

With the weather front we had the BASS bite was still very good in the bay. Fish the local bridges with clam bellies and clam chum,both tides are still producing. There are still tons of bluefish in the bay as well,they are hitting bellies and fresh bunker chunks. The bass and bluefish are also hitting plugs and bucktails in the back bays of baldwin and merrick. The fluking slowed just a bit in the bay but with the good weather it should pick up.

The bass bite slowed a bit in the ocean, tons of bluefish moved in to 30 to 60 ft , its tuff getting through the bluefish. kevin and john stevenson caught 13 blues to 9lbs and 1 keeper bass of 33" fishing in 40ft. they were trolling umbrella rigs with braided line and drails. the bay bass bite earlier in the week was excellent.charlie from yacthsmans cove landed a 20lb bass and lost a larger fish using clam chum and bellies. shop owner mike and russell tried bucktails and red and white porkrind on the local bridges at night on the incoming tide and caught 9 bass to 20lbs and as many bluefish as you wanted. the fluke in the backbays are producing some quality fish. shop regulars shawn and tommy had 3 keepers in baldwin bay on the outgoing tide, largest fish was 4lbs6oz, all fish caught on hi/lo rigs tied at the shop. mike sr had 2 keepers to 20" fishing just north of the second loop bridge and seadog creek. he also had a ten lb bass on a smackit popper in seadog also. clam chumming has been a steady pick at all the local bridges and jones inlet,evening tides are producing better.still tons of bait in the bay and lots of squid. surf rats fishing jones beach on either side are scoring on fresh bunker chunks.

Bass are being caught at Jones Beach and Jones Inlet on the outgoing tide on fresh bunker chunks,there are bluefish to 10lbs mixed in.Bass are still being caught at the local bridges,the second wantagh bridge producing some good numbers on fresh skimmers and clam chum.The bass bite slowed a little in the ocean but the bluefish are thick from Jones to Debs,trolling,jigging and live lining bunker are producing. The bay FLUKE bite is very good ,with a good keeper to short ratio. Bucktail and fluke ball double rigs tipped with spearing are working well tipped with local spearing.Blowfish are already in the bay as a bycatch while flounder fishing.Try near the jones inlet coast guard station with clam,worms and clam chum.Blueclaw crabs are already showing in overnight pots.

The BASS bite is excellent everywhere!!! Fish to 35" are being caught at all the local bridges,drains and deep marsh banks. Fresh skimmers and clam chum are taking there share, but a few customers using fresh bunker have caught there share with plenty of Bluefish mixed in.Bass and Bluefish are also being caught on artificials in the back bays. FLUKE fishing is excellent in the bay as well.Customers fishing Middle bay and Baldwin bay are catching plenty of keepers to 22" on hi-lo bucktail rigs tipped with spearing,and 2 and 3oz flukeball rigs.THE ocean BASS and BLUEFISH bite is still excellent. Fish from the pink hotel to the roundhouse in 30'to 65'are being jigged,trolled and live lining bunker.

After all the wind this week, the fish cooperated big time. mark demasi slammed bass to 35" on clam bellies and clam chum at the fundy bridge. he said it was lock and load for most of the tide. keith shaeffer and his crew were fishing jones inlet and had 4 fish all keepers on clam bellies and clam chum. blue fish have moved into the bay and all the local bridges and are taking fresh bunker chunks and plugs. mike kearny had 8 bluefish to 6lbs  in the back of merrick on smack-it poppers and tins. the ocean bite the last 2 days is red hot. bass to 35lbs and bluefish to 10lbs are being caught at the round house and just west of debs at the church in 35 to 75 ft . tom and nick on the pitbull jigged 4 bass to 20lbs on gold and silver hammered jigs in 50 ft of water, then put the umbrellas and manns stretch plugs out  for three more fish  to 35lbs. they also had multiple bluefish and said bass were on top chasing bunker. squid are in the bay  and the bass and blues have been at the local bridges at night the last two days on the outgoing tide, bucktails tipped with red and white porkrind and 5" and 6" swim shads are producing. customers searching for fluke have been catching and releasing fish for a week already. the shop carrys all local spearing and local squid,live killies and custom fluke rigs all tied at the shop. we open at 6am daily and close at 7pm.

The BASS are on the feed after the BIG BLOW...BASS were caught today at Jones Inlet and all the local bridges on both tides,but the outgoing producing better.Clam bellies were the ticket today for bass up to 34".Lots of bluefish have moved into the bay and are being caught on fresh bunker chunks and casting tins,swimming plugs and poppers.At night bluefish and bass are being caught in the shadow line of all the local bridges.Tons of bailt in the bay.

Bass are in the back bays and reynolds channel. A few customers are using clam chum and fresh bellies up around the tidal drains and are catching bass up to 32". Bass and some medium size bluefish are being plugged in the backbays also, try the deep cut marsh banks. Tons of bait in the bay.

Bass are being caught at the west bar and all the local bridges on clam bellies and clam chum. They are also being caught in Reynolds channel and the back bays on pearl swim shads,rattle traps and poppers. Bluefish are also being caught in the inlet on fresh bunker and have trickled into the bay. Customers are already playing catch and release with fluke, so it should be a good season.
